I keep making online shopping carts bursting with shorter hemlines, vibrant colors and classic cuts. Here are some of the highlights:

Motorcycle/Engineer Boots
Frye Women's Engineer12R $199 from Shoes.com
I am certainly no biker chick and I've never driven a train/been good at physics, but I really want a pair of these boots. I think it's the small piece of me that still longs for the grunge 90's with the babydoll dresses, backpack purses and flannel shirts tied at the waist.

Furry Nightmare
We've got all kinds of naked protests that are anti-fur and I'm about to strip and join them after seeing these abominations:

Who, I ask, would look good in this hat and scarf combo by Echo?? It's the visual equivalent of tarring and furry-ing.
Considering the trend for the season is leaning toward very tailored looks, this comes way out of left field.
Maybe I'm being a bit too mean on this one, but I just don't see how anyone could make this look good.
Well maybe except these guys:
If you severly disagree with me, the hat is $42 and the scarf is $68, from Nordstrom.

From Urban Outfitters, the Lux Bubblegum Dress, is a perfect transitional dress for summer/fall. Pair it with some wedges and a black popover, or wear it with some strappy sandals and bare shoulders...either way, it's super cute!
$58 from Urban Outfitters (via Catwalk Queen)

"I dole out justice with the tip of my boot..."
I've been having visions lately of walking out of my house in the morning and hearing frost crunch under my feet and seeing each puff of breath. Oh, how much I love winter. Although it's traditionally the season of bulky sweaters, dry skin and chapped lips, it's still my absolutely favorite season.
Luca Boot by Betsey Johnson, $295 from Nordstrom; Suede Ankle Boot by Christian Louboutin, $890 from Neiman Marcus; Dark brown military-button round-toe boots by Dolce & Gabbana, $929.99 from Bluefly
Juliette by Mia, $85.95 from Zappos.com; 'Jelly Donut' Ankle Boot by BC Footwear, $79.95 from Nordstrom; Morgan by Bronx Shoes, $119.65 from Zappos.com

Any of these would make an excellent 6th pair...
By 6th pair, I don't mean shoes in general...I just mean mary janes. For some reason I've always had a fascination with them and actually had to make a conscious effort to not buy any more for a while. But certainly if I had the dough, any of the shoes below from Chie Mihara would make a fantastic addition to my collection.
(top row) Oda Heel $338; Crio Heel $316; Gina Heel $316, (bottom row) Mihara Jane Heel $310; Fina Mary Jane $318; Mihara Gonda Heel $336

Before we wave goodbye to summer...
From Wet Seal (for the low-low price of $22.50!) comes the Voile Plaid Tube Dress. It just screams that it needs to go on a picnic, no?

Pale foundation, red lipstick and White Christmas
Last night I visited my local Sephora to try out some mineral makeup. I realize that I'm ridiculously behind the times on this one, but honestly until recently I didn't really wear foundation consistently. So far I am liking my purchase of Tarte pressed mineral powder and I am extremely excited about my new Make Up For Ever lipstick (color pictured at left).
While I was perusing the different stop-engine reds, I noticed their ad campaign advertising lipstick being back to the scene and blah blah blah...and then I saw their model for the campaign (pictured left).
Maybe it's just me, but she has quite the odd resemblance to a young Rosemary Clooney, no?
